The Master´s in Information Security Management aims to prepare competent professionals with specialized knowledge in the field of information security from business management, technical and administrative perspectives. Students are equipped with an entrepreneurial spirit, an international/global vision, and a commitment to society based on excellence and values.
Graduates will be able to direct corporate information security management, propose strategies, prioritize organizational technological initiatives, and manage information and technology resources. They will design models for managing corporate information security systems with an integral business vision based on recognized standards aligned with business strategies and the corresponding regulatory framework. They will develop information security risk management plans and propose controls to mitigate identified vulnerabilities and technological threats. Graduates will also create disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, and other projects to protect corporate information.
Graduates are expected to understand the importance of protecting information assets and their impact on personal and business risks, to work collaboratively in teams, and to develop management skills to make investment decisions for information security management. In addition, they are expected to lead diverse multidisciplinary work teams in national and international contexts and to conduct themselves in an ethical, creative, proactive, and responsible manner always respecting all legal frameworks while being committed to the country’s technological development process for the benefit of society.
Program enrollment: Program headcount totals the number of students enrolled yearly.
Graduation rate: is calculated through the 2021-2022 academic year, based on new, first-time students entering in the fall semester, regardless of whether they enroll in the daytime or evening version of their program (if available). These rates do not consider incoming transfer students.
In every semester, the program provides assessment results according to its Multiannual Assessment Plan (MAP), which typically considers one or more of its program learning outcomes (PLOs). Most programs utilize the platform Brightspace to collect and assess student work and to present the data and evidence of student achievement. These results and their analysis, with the objective of identifying areas for improvement, are presented in the program’s annual assessment report. In the graphic below, the most recent period in which a PLO has been assessed is indicated, with the percentage indicating achievement of the expected performance standard for that PLO, according to the rubric used to evaluate the student work. This standard can be designated at an introductory, intermediate, or final level, depending upon how the course learning outcomes (CLOs) align to each PLO in the program’s curriculum map.
